The Ultimate Gift

I just finished the book "The Ultimate Gift." It only took me a few hours and was a really easy read. I truly enjoyed this book. If you haven't read it, you should. It just is all around good and makes you really think about your life and how you are living. THere is movie based on the book and I watched it last night and it was ok. It's a cute movie and has a good message but it is NOTHING like the book and the book is SO much better. I know that that is how most movies that are based on a book are but this one takes the cake. Anyways I just wanted to share a few quotes from the book because I loved it so much.Ü

The Gift of Work
He who loves his work never labors

The Gift of Money
Money is nothing more than a tool. It can be a force for good, a force for evil, or simply be idle.

The Gift of Friends
It is a wealthy person, indeed, who calculates riches not in gold but in friends.

The Gift of Learning
Education is a lifelong journey whose destination expands as you travel.

The Gift of Problems
Problems can only be avoided by exercising good judgement. Good judgment can only be gained by experiencing life's problems.

The Gift of Family
Some people are born into wonderful families. Others have to find or create them. Being a member of a family is a priceless privilege which costs nothing but love.

The Gift of Laughter
Laughter is good medicine for the soul. Our world is desperately in need of more such medicine.

The Gift of Dreams
Faith is all that dreamers need to see into the future.

The Gift of Giving
The only way you can truly get more out of life for yourself is to give part of yourself away.

The Gift of Gratitude
In those times when we yearn to have more in our lives, we should dwell on the things we already have. In doing so, we will often find that our lives are already full to overflowing.

The Gift of a day
Life at its essence boils down to one day at a time. Today is the day!

The Gift of Love
Love is a treasure for which we can never pay. The only way we keep it is to give it away.

The Ultimate Gift
In the end, life lived to its fullest is its own ultimate gift.

Two Cars

Well, we finally bought a second car! We have always only had one car, our whole marriage on car. We never really needed a second one and I was determined to go as long as we could with just one car. But the day came when we realized we needed two. I think we made it pretty long with just one. It just got too hard with me working 2 jobs and Reg going to school and selling on the side. I am going to miss having him drive me to work and pick me up. We looked and looked and looked for a SUV. I was starting to get really impatient with all the dealerships. Luckily Regan knows alot about sales and didn't sucked in to just buying one. He is really good at negotiating. Never pay the amount that you are told first for a car. They can always go lower! But finally we found one that we love and felt really good about it. YAY! Prices are really good right now for SUV's. It's an X5 and It's really fast.Ü

Home Sick

I am so ready for the weekend and by weekend I mean Saturday night and Sunday. I have worked all week and I work tomorrow from 9-6! AAHH I am pulling out my hair already. It has been a long week and I am super bored at work. So forgive me for whining. I don't think I have had one customer the whole day. Bummer. At least I can look forward to a nice friday night with Regan and the cousins.Ü But I am dreading tomorrow... I need something to do to keep me sane.

Also, I need to start hanging things up on my walls at our house and I am terrified. Decorating scares me so bad. I really struggle with it and I don't have clue what I am doing. Regan is better at it than i am. He actually has a really good eye but if he could have his way he woudn't hang anything up on the walls. What? Are you kidding?! So now its up to me to figure out where to hang stuff. I will probably only end up hanging one thing cause then I will be too afraid that I won't like where i hang the other stuff. I don't want to put holes in my new and beautiful walls.Ü HELP.

2009 ready or not

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday! We had a great one! It has been super busy, I don't remember other Christmas' being this busy but that may be because we moved into a new house 4 days before Christmas! It was the best. We are loving our new house and it feels so good to have a home. It is a slow process moving in but I am determined to not get stressed out and just take my time. I love unpacking and putting things away in their right places. With the holidays we haven't really spent much time in our new house and yesterday was the first night that we just hung out in our new house, just the two of us. And I cooked our first meal in our new kitchen... amazing.Ü I really want to post some pics but I have no idea where our camera cord is... I must find it. We had alot of ups and downs getting into our house...ALOT! It seemed that everything that could go wrong did and I thought I was going to lose it. I will spare all the details because they seem so minor now. Everything truly does work out even when it seems like they won't. Lets just say we learned ALOT.Ü

Good ol' Reg has been the little homemaker while I go to work everyday. That definitely feels weird. He has worked really hard trying to get everything order and fixed. I wish I was the one at home but I guess having a job is a good thing.Ü I seem to always say I wish I wasn't working but then when i am not working I go crazy. So this a good change.

Please come by to our new house and say hello. We would love having friends.Ü

Christmas Craziness

I hope all of you are getting ready for Christmas and everything is going well for you. I love this time of year and I think its going to be a really great Christmas! I just can't seem to get anything done. A few days ago I had the thought "Oh I am not really even busy and I have plenty of time to get everything done", and now the thought I have just a few days later "AHHH there is no way I am going to get everyting done." Has anyone else had this thought? I know everything will turn out but it just amazes me how in just a matter of days it can change so fast. I still have all my Christmas shopping for Reg to do. I also for some reason decided to be really crafty and make all of these homemade gifts... don't know what I was thinking.Ü Oh and we are moving into our townhouse on the 19th, right before Christmas! AHH so exciting! Crazy times call for crazy measures.
However despite all of the craziness I still can't help loving this time of year. On Sunday our church meetings were extremely good and also listening to the Christmas devotional from the First Presidency has really made me think about the true meaning of Christmas. I know we hear about this alot but it has really hit me this year. I feel so blessed and really am so happy with what we have been given that I really don't want anything for Christmas. Times are tough and I think that for alot of people Christmas will be different this year. I think last night during the devotional President Uchdorf said that this economic problem may be a blessing in disguise. I would like to think of it that way during this time instead of worrying and focusing on the negative. Maybe we can get back to way Christmas was meant to be. Christ truly is the reason.

4. Where was the first time you kissed this person? On my front porch after Winter Ball our Junior year.

5. Where did you go for your first date? I called and asked him to go a BYU game with me. I was so nervous to call and ask him because we really didn't know each other. But yes I was the one who asked him out and I am so glad I did cause look where it lead.Ü

6. How long did you know this person before you became a couple? Not very long. We were pretty much a couple after our first date.Ü

7. How did he ask you out? Well he did ask me to homecoming before I asked him to the BYU game but I had to tell him no because I had already been asked. I was crushed. How he asked was he left a puzzle on the my front porch that I had to put together. There was one piece missing in the puzzle and the next day I got it and it had his name on it. I was so bummed to have to tell him no.

20. Are you married? Ofcourse.

I'm Back...

I am back for those of you who are still reading my blog, for those of you who aren't reading my blog anymore I don't blame you. I am ashamed of myself. I really had good intentions to keep my blog updated but then I just kept putting it off and it just got worse and worse and then I didn't even know where to start. But now I am back and it feels so good.Ü
We have been living with Reg's parents for the past 2 months and we are going to be moving into our new townhouse in less than 2 weeks! I can't even believe it. We are so excited! We went to see the place yesterday and I didn't want to leave even though it was freezing. I will post some pictures soon. It is going to be the best Christmas present!Ü
Mostly we have just been hanging out and enjoying a little break from school and work. I have been looking for a teaching job but haven't had much luck. Health teachers just aren't in high demand especially half way through the year but that's okay I know that I can get a job next year or who knows what will happen. So since I haven't had much luck in the education department I am now working at Sprint. I feel blessed to be able to have job and am thankful for the way things worked out. Reg will be starting school in January and I think he is ready to get back. So that's where we are at right now and it couldn't be better.Ü
